The Tonganoxie FFA chapter was recognized for earning first place in the Ag Issues Forum Leadership Development Event (LDE) during the 90th Kansas FFA State Convention, May 30–June 1, 2018, on the Kansas State University campus.

In the Ag Issues Forum LDE, FFA members must create a written portfolio and prepare a verbal presentation addressing issues facing agriculture.

Tonganoxie FFA won first place in the state event with their topic of the dangers of developing resistance to antimicrobials. Team members on the first place team included: Alan Hinds, Rebekah Martin, and Tanner Walden.

As a state winner, the first-place Tonganoxie team is eligible to represent the Kansas FFA Association in the National Ag Issues Forum LDE at the fall 2018 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Skyline FFA received second place in the Ag Issues Forum, and Ellsworth FFA got third place.
