MANHATTAN, Kan. – Nicholas Meyer, from the Marion FFA Chapter, completed his term as State FFA Sentinel after helping lead the 87th Kansas FFA Convention May 27-29, on the Kansas State University campus. Meyer represented more than 8,850 Kansas FFA members during his 2014-2015 term.

After being elected State FFA Sentinel  in May 2014, Meyer traveled across the state sharing his passion for leadership, service and agriculture. He was one of six officers who presented workshops and speeches challenging high school students to serve their community in the spirit of this year’s convention theme, “Go all out!”

Meyer says that being a Kansas FFA Officer has been an incredible experience he will never forget. “I will cherish watching members grow and helping facilitate some of that growth,” Meyer said. “I am honored to have been a part of this incredible organization and can’t wait to see where these incredible members, advisors and supporters take it in the future.”

Meyer marked the completion of his year of service by presenting his retiring address titled “Choose Happiness” at the fifth session of the convention, Friday, May 29.

Meyer will be a sophomore at Kansas State University. His major is in Biological and Agricultural Engineering.

His officer team included: President Taylor Green, Southeast of Saline Chapter; Vice President Bethany Schifferdecker, Girard Chapter; Secretary Jeffrey Hadachek, Republic County Chapter; Treasurer Chantelle Simon, Hill City Chapter; and Reporter Kyle Apley, Blue Valley Chapter.

Meyer is the son of Mark and Marsha Meyer. His advisor is Mark Meyer.
