Brandon Carp

A member of the Maize FFA Chapter earned first place in the FFA Creed Public Speaking Career Development Event (CDE) during the 87th Kansas FFA State Convention opening ceremony, May 27, on Kansas State University’s campus.

Brandon Carp is this year’s FFA Creed Public Speaking winner and received a plaque and cash award. After being announced as the winner, he presented the FFA Creed to members and guests in attendance at the opening session of the Kansas FFA Convention Wednesday.

Carp will represent Kansas at the 2015 National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. The creed speaking award is sponsored by Kansas FFA Alumni.

Presenting the five-paragraph FFA Creed from memory, members in grades 7 through 9 recite the creed and answer questions about its meaning. The event boosts confidence and develops the members’ ability to communicate in a professional and effective manner.
