Local FFA Members Participate in State FFA Band

 A select group of FFA members used their musical abilities to entertain members and guests by performing as part of the State FFA Band during the 91st Kansas FFA Convention, May 29–31, 2019, on the Kansas State University campus.

In order to participate in this select ensemble, members were required to submit audition tapes and recommendations from their local music instructors.

Members of the State FFA Band are as follows: Altoona-Midway: Clement Huffman and Joshua Meigs; Caney Valley: Keaton Herrmann; Centre: Tyler Nickel; Clifton-Clyde: Jessica Wurtz; Ellsworth: Sara Klein; Eudora: Emily Spurling; Herington: Gene Hanson, Hannah Oswald and Carrie Roe; Holton: Katina Bartel, Sarah Grafton and Hannah Newell; Hugoton: Charlie Wettstein, Hallie Wettstein; Logan: Madison Gottstine, Toni Jenner; Marysville: Abbigail Luedders; Renwick: Reese Byers, Tanner Hommertzheim; Rock Creek: Kyle Grimes; Russell: Shelby Ney; Sedan: Jaime Mar; Skyline: Kami McComb; St. Marys: Virginia Crosby, Kaylee Lukert, Lanie Mott and Caitlin Pearl; West Elk: Timothy Whetstone; West Franklin: Courtney Reedy and Samantha Weber.

The band was directed by Yvonne Colle-Burden, Medicine Lodge High School, and assisted by Kris Brenzikofer, West Franklin High School. The band performed two concerts during the convention.
