The Labette County FFA chapter was awarded first place in the Career Development Event (CDE) Sweepstakes at the 90th annual Kansas FFA State Convention May 30–June 1, 2018, on the Kansas State University campus.

FFA members compete in state Career Development Events (CDEs) in a variety of topic areas. The Labette County FFA took top honors in the Ag Communications, Agronomy, Farm Business and Vet Science CDE’s. They also secured a second place in the Entomology CDE.

The students’ knowledge as displayed in the variety of CDE competitions propelled Labette County FFA to place first in the Sweepstakes contest. Louisburg FFA earned second and Washington County FFA was awarded third place.
