Inman FFA Member Wins State FFA Discussion Meet

A member of the Inman FFA chapter earned first place in the FFA Discussion Meet competition during the 90th Kansas FFA State Convention, May 30–June 1, 2018, on the Kansas State University campus.

Max Hartman of Inman FFA is this year’s FFA Discussion Meet winner and received a plaque and cash award. Michael Dowd, Spring Hill FFA, placed second; Brandon Carp, Maize FFA, placed third; and Abby Goins, Labette County FFA, placed fourth.

In the Discussion Meet, FFA members discuss an assigned topic for 15 minutes. Participants are scored and ranked on their ability to introduce the topic, analyze the problem, identify solutions, think critically, engage others effectively and summarize the discussion accurately. Topics focus on issues in crops, livestock, natural resources, ag education and FFA.

This award is sponsored by Kansas Farm Bureau.
