Larry Hoobler has received the VIP Award at the 88th Kansas FFA State Convention, June 1-3, 2016, on the Kansas State University campus.

Hoobler started his agricultural education career at Council Grove High School in 1971. After teaching there for six and a half years, he moved to Wabaunsee-Alma. While teaching, he was actively involved with the Kansas Association of Agricultural Educators, and served a term as president of the organization. Since retiring from teaching, Mr. Hoobler remains involved in agricultural education. As an area field representative for Seitz fundraising products, he visits each new educator in the state, and uses that opportunity to listen to their concerns and provide wisdom to grow the success of their programs. Hoobler hosted the Region 2 Conference for the National Association of Agricultural Educators, and serves on the board of directors for Farm Credit Associations of Kansas.

“The VIP Award honors individuals who have dedicated many years of service to FFA and agricultural education,” said Kansas FFA secretary Dean Klahr.
