Cherryvale FFA chapter won first place in the state scrapbook competition May 27 during the 87th Kansas FFA Convention on the Kansas State University campus.

The scrapbook competition gives FFA members a chance to showcase their chapter’s accomplishments throughout the last year. Cherryvale FFA was awarded first place in the contest, exhibiting the most quality scrapbook complete with member activities and media documentation.

“In addition to serving as a record of activities for FFA chapters, scrapbooks also are an important resource to encourage prospective and new members to learn more about chapter activities,” said Mary Kane, Kansas FFA Association executive secretary.

Fourteen chapters participated in the competition. Centre FFA took second place; Iola FFA, third place; Buhler FFA, fourth place; Girard FFA, fifth place; Hill City FFA, sixth place. All chapter scrapbooks are on display in McCain Auditorium for convention attendees to view during the three-day event.
