Caney Valley FFA Wins State Ritual Event

Caney Valley FFA team members were recognized as first in the state in the State Ritual Career Development Event (CDE) at the 87th Kansas FFA State Convention opening ceremony, May 27, on Kansas State University’s campus.

In the Ritual Demonstration CDE, FFA members must demonstrate outstanding delivery and presentation skills for the FFA Opening Ceremony.

Caney Valley FFA was awarded first place in the Ritual Demonstration CDE. Following Caney Valley, Wamego FFA chapter placed second, Labette County FFA received third and Clay Center FFA placed fourth.

Team members from Caney Valley include: Cristin Shepard, Lisha Lamb, Michaela Gilfillan, Riley Carnes, Jacen Clapp and Jackson Newby.

As state winner, Caney Valley has the opportunity to represent Kansas in the Ritual CDE at the 2015 National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.
