The second session of the 91st Kansas FFA Convention that began at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019. This session introduced the 13 state officer candidates vying to serve and lead the association during the 2019–20 year.

The Kansas Farm Bureau Community Grants were awarded to the following FFA chapters: Atchison County, Inman, Junction City, La Crosse, Lyndon, Marais Des Cygnes Valley, Skyline, Southwestern Heights, Valley Heights, and Wellington.

The ranking of the gold division chapters in the National Chapter–Building Communities division was revealed. Arkansas City FFA chapter took the top spot, ranking first.

Garrett Craig, 2018–19 Kansas FFA Sentinel, gave his retiring address titled “Let Go.”

The Kansas FFA Foundation Board of Trustees were introduced and recognized for their commitment to the success of Kansas FFA.

Ten members received recognition for the leadership information test. The test assessed the knowledge of FFA and agricultural education of members throughout the state and these members were the top ten.

  • 9th place, Becky Kropf, Anderson County FFA
  • 8th place, Travon Perry, Uniontown FFA
  • 7th place, Hayden Schaaf, Uniontown FFA
  • 6th place, Veronica Bieker, Ellis FFA
  • 5th place, Dae Lynn Peine, Anderson County FFA
  • 4th place, Maddie Ard, Uniontown FFA
  • 3rd place, Lane Fischer, Ellis FFA
  • 2nd place, Isabella Bollig, Ellis FFA
  • 1st place, Taylor Brynds, Girard FFA

The top five chapters in FFA information were from fifth to first: Girard FFA, Holton FFA, Anderson County FFA, Ellis FFA, and Uniontown FFA.

Students that received Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) grants were then highlighted on stage.

The winning members for the Kansas Association of Agricultural Educators (KAAE) essay contest were announced. The outstanding advisors were also honored through the KAAE Teacher Award Program.

Layni LeBlanc, 2018–19 National FFA Secretary from Louisiana, addressed the members attending the convention. She addressed living our lives with clear priorities and a life of design must be something we do intentionally, not just as a reaction.

The session concluded by highlighting the student success of the state winning proficiency awards.
