Hope Thomas of the Mission Valley FFA chapter won a drawing for a John Deere Gator during the 91st Kansas FFA State Convention, May 29–31, 2019, on the Kansas State University campus.

Thomas’s name was drawn from 10 finalists which were randomly selected from a pool of members who completed one of the following requirements for entry: submitted an application for the American or State FFA Degree, participated in the agriscience fair, received an agri-entrepreneurship award, or were honored as a proficiency award winner or District Star winner.

Thomas was eligible for the drawing because she received her State FFA Degree. Her chapter advisors are John Bergin and Kelly Hoelting.

The drawing is sponsored by the John Deere Agriculture and Turf Division, American Implement Inc., BTI, Carrico Implement Co. Inc., Heritage Tractor Inc., Hiawatha Implement Co., Landmark Implement Inc., Plains Equipment, and Prairie Land Partners.

“The tradition of our John Deere Gator prize is such a great testament to the support that John Deere gives to our members that is something that lasts for years to come,” said Kansas FFA State Treasurer Kristin Isle. “The Gator itself stands as a constant reminder of all the things we as members can accomplish through the assistance of a great support system.”
