Kansas FFA members from across the state competed in the state Agriscience Fair during the 90th Kansas FFA State Convention, May 30–June 1, 2018, on the Kansas State University campus.
The Agriscience Fair is a competition for Kansas FFA members interested in the science and technology of today’s agricultural sector.
Students can compete in the agriscience fair in one of six categories:
- Animal Systems
- Environmental/Natural Resource Systems
- Food Products and Processing Systems
- Plant Systems
- Power, Structural and Technical Systems
- Social Systems
Winners in each category are as follows:
Animal Systems, Division 4:
- 1st place, Charlie Bestwick and Leah Renyer from the Sabetha FFA chapter
- 2nd place, Sarah Zimmerman and Abby Smith from the Girard FFA chapter
Animal Systems, Division 5:
- 1st place, Camryn Youngers from the Dodge City FFA chapter
Animal Systems, Division 6:
- 1st 1st place, Cassidy Kroboth and Zoe Barta from the Ellsworth FFA chapter
- 2nd place, Ethan Goff and Karley Crystal from the Girard FFA chapter
Food Products and Processing Systems, Division 3:
- 1st place, Joaquin Velez-Prieto from the Fowler FFA chapter
Food Products and Processing Systems, Division 4:
- 1st place, Maddie Widau and Brooke Hines from the Mission Valley FFA chapter
Plant Systems, Division 3:
- 1st place, Morgan Durbin from the Fowler FFA chapter
Plant Systems, Division 4:
- 1st place, Cassidy Anderson and Kloie Clegg from the Caney FFA chapter
Power and Structure System, Division 3:
- 1st place, Seth McGlachlin from the Fairfield FFA chapter
Power and Structure System, Division 6:
- 1st place, Brandon Hittle and Caleb Hinck from the Mission Valley FFA chapter
Social Systems, Division 5:
- 1st place, Brett Ferguson from the Girard FFA chapter
