MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kyle Apley, from the Blue Valley FFA Chapter , completed his term as State FFA Reporter after helping lead the 87th Kansas FFA Convention May 27-29, on the Kansas State University campus. Apley represented more than 8,850 Kansas FFA members during her 2014-2015 term.

After being elected State FFA Reporter in May 2014, Apley traveled across the state sharing her passion for leadership, service and agriculture. He was one of six officers who presented workshops and speeches challenging high school students to serve their community in the spirit of this year’s convention theme, “Go all out!”

When asked about his time as a state officer, Apley says having a state office position has many responsibilities, but working with members and witnessing them succeed is what has made the year extraordinary. “When visiting schools for chapter events, I was always over-swept with amazement at just how much power our members have in making a difference in their communities,” Apley said.

Apley marked the completion of his year of service by presenting his retiring address titled “Living with Purpose” at the second session of the convention, Thursday, May 28.

Apley will be a sophomore at Kansas State University, majoring in Chemistry.

His officer team included: President Taylor Green, Southeast of Saline Chapter; Vice President Bethany Schifferdecker, Girard Chapter; Secretary Jeffrey Hadachek, Republic County Chapter; Treasurer Chantelle Simon, Hill City Chapter; and Sentinel Nicholas Meyer, Marion Chapter.

Apley is the son of Michael and Kathryn Apley. His advisor is Tim Kilgore.
