Greg Krissek, Terri Lee, Melanie Mainquist and Kyle McGuffin were presented the Honorary Kansas FFA Degree at the 91st Kansas FFA Convention on the Kansas State University campus on Thursday, May 31. Honorary Kansas FFA Degrees are bestowed upon individuals who have donated time and money to the efforts of the FFA organization, demonstrating their belief in the leadership and experiences provided by FFA.

Krissek is the CEO of the Kansas Corn Growers Association and Kansas Corn Commission. He previously served as the assistant secretary for the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Through his 25 years of experience working with agriculture, ethanol, renewable energy, and public policy, Krissek has made strengthening agriculture a priority. He is also finishing his second year of service as the Kansas FFA Foundation Board of Trustees Chair.

Lee has served as the lead contact for Kansas FFA staff in McCain Auditorium for more than 20 years. She works with Courtesy Corps and Registration to ensure that seating at the convention is always correct. Lee keeps the auditorium in great condition to reflect the high standards of K-State and which FFA expects from its members.

Mainquist is a native of Courtland and is a former member of the Pike Valley FFA chapter. After serving as the 1985–1986 Kansas FFA Vice President, Mainquist went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Kansas State University. She has contributed innovation to agriculture throughout her career. She has worked her way throughout the agriculture industry and has furthered her impact by being a longtime supporter of FFA and by serving on the Kansas FFA Foundation Board of Trustees. Her belief in FFA and agricultural education led her to be the first individual to give the gift of grain to the Kansas FFA Foundation.

McGuffin is the Technical Director for McCain Auditorium at Kansas State University and has spent years working with Kansas FFA staff to construct a fantastic convention experience. His duties include designing and creating the iconic convention atmosphere that Kansas FFA members have come to expect. He has created various aspects of the stage including the emblem that shines center stage and several of the banners placed around the auditorium.
