Ellsworth FFA team members were recognized for placing first in the state Chapter Officer Challenge at the third session of the 89th Kansas FFA State Convention, May 31–June 1, 2017, on the Kansas State University campus.

This is the inaugural competition for the Chapter Officer Challenge. The Chapter Officer Challenge is an opportunity for chapter officers to advocate on behalf of FFA, agricultural education, career and technical education and the agriculture industry.

“We wanted a program that encouraged officers to increase their roles within the chapter while also highlighting the great programs that many chapters already have in place,” said Clara Wicoff, State Vice President. “Increasing awareness for Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE) and creating interest in developing these programs played a big part in the development of the competition.”

The Ellsworth FFA chapter was awarded first place in the Chapter Officer Challenge. Eureka placed second, McClouth FFA received third, Atchison County FFA placed fourth and Scott City FFA placed fifth.
