The Louisburg FFA chapter was awarded first place in the Career Development Event (CDE) Sweepstakes at the 91st Kansas FFA Convention May 29–31, 2019, on the Kansas State University campus.

FFA members compete in state Career Development Events (CDEs) in a variety of topic areas. The Louisburg FFA chapter took top honors in the Food Science & Technology and Nursery/Landscape CDEs. They also secured second place finishes in the Floriculture, Milk Quality & Products, and Poultry Evaluation CDEs.

The students’ knowledge was displayed in the variety of CDE competitions to propel Louisburg FFA to place first in the sweepstakes contest. Labette County FFA earned second, Spring Hill FFA was awarded third place, Ottawa FFA was awarded fourth place, and Washington County FFA received fifth place.
